Florida Food Handler
Food Handlers in Florida working for establishments licensed by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) Division of Hotels & Restaurants, need to get a Florida Food Handler Certificate from an approved provider within 60 days of new hire date and renew every 3 years.
The good news is, attending a class is not required anymore. As of August, 2011, rule 61C-4.023 of the Florida Administrative Code allows the division to accept training provided through interactive distance learning such as online training.
You are now able to print your certificate as soon as you finish the training and pass the final exam with a score of at least 70%. Your records will automatically be updated to the Florida DBPR database.
Please keep in mind that you need to be employed before you take this course, as the name of the business you work for must appear on your certificate.
