The ServSafe Certified Food Manager Class is a nationally-accredited, well-respected, and voluntary program that offers in depth-training on the prevention of foodborne illness, and has provided a tremendous public health benefit to food service providers and to the public.

Kitchens with Certified Food Managers are proven to have fewer health code violations and fewer outbreaks than kitchens that operate without the benefit of this additional food safety training.

FAQs

The class is three and a half hours long and includes a review session prior to the exam. Two hours are allocated to exam administration.
Yes. Although the State of Oregon does not require managers to obtain the Servsafe Certification, having a certified food protection manager as the Person in Charge does help an establishment meet the Demonstration of Knowledge Requirement in Oregon, per the Oregon Food Sanitation Rules. Furthermore, the ServSafe Manager Certification is a nationally accepted, ANAB-CFP accredited exam. Premier Food Safety is an approved ServSafe partner. All our food safety experts are ServSafe certified instructors and registered proctors.
The Food Manager class is focused on teaching food safety principles to reduce the risk of foodborne illness. During class, you will learn about common food pathogens and other sources of contamination. You will also learn best practices to keep food safe. This includes personal hygiene, reportable illnesses, proper food storage, as well as approved cooking, holding, and thawing methods. You will also learn about approved equipment, pest prevention strategies, cleaning and sanitizing methods, active managerial control, and so much more!
Upon completion of the class, you will receive a Certificate of Completion of Training. This certificate is not the ServSafe Certificate, which can only be obtain upon passing the certification exam.
The Standard Package includes classroom instruction with a food safety expert, a review session, the ServSafe Certification Exam, and a web-based, mobile friendly Study Guide and Practice Test in PDF format.
Class and exam are offered in Spanish. For English alternatives, please make sure to check our online packages.
Once you successfully pass the ServSafe Exam, you will receive an email with your results and a link to download your certificate within 2 to 3 weeks.
Cancellations will be allowed only for this date and location up until 7 days prior to the class date and will be issued a full refund. If a student cancels less than 7 days prior to the class, no refund will be issued.
