Jersey Mike’s launches their “Month of Giving” charity campaign

Jersey Mike’s Subs has launched its annual March “Month of Giving” campaign to raise funds for over 120 local charities. Last March the fast casual sub chain raised $2.1 million, which was donated to a variety of hospitals, food banks, youth organizations, and other worthy charities.

March 25 is Jersey Mike’s official “Day of Giving” where all proceeds raised on that day will go to charity. The chain hopes to “make a difference in people’s lives.”

Servers are very patient people

Working in food service can be a lot of fun, but it’s also very stressful. You have to take care of rude customers, work long hours on your feet, and keep a smile on your face through it all. This fun article at Shiftgig lists eight examples of the stuff you deal with on a daily basis, even though you wish you could just say “no.”

For example, how many times have you had customers come in a few minutes before closing and expect full service? Then there are the neglectful parents who let their kids run all over the restaurant as if they expect you to watch them.

Sometimes customers do things that don’t make any sense at all, such as making sure you know they have a gluten allergy and then ordering a pasta dish. You don’t want to embarrass them, but you have to set them straight with politeness and poise, and you do because you’re an awesome server!

Rick Ross loves Wing Stop so much, he became a franchisee!

Rick Ross is well known in the rap world, but he’s becoming a big name in wings now, too. He first thought about opening a franchise back in 2007, and in 2011 he made his dream a reality with his first Wing Stop in Memphis, Tennessee. Five more followed soon after!

His franchises have been doing very well, with reports of a 50% sales increase in some locations. He’s planning on opening more in the future!
