Some Like it Hot

More restaurant-goers are looking for extra spice in their entrees these days, especially the younger demographic who are quickly becoming known for their adventurous culinary spirit. Restaurants everywhere are stepping up the heat and adding chilies and spices to many entrees.

This article from Nation’s Restaurant News has more on the subject, including some interesting survey numbers. Over 50 percent of consumers have a “strong preference” for spicier foods, and that number has been steadily increasing since 2009.
