Every new hire at a restaurant has to go through a fair bit of training. Servers must be taught not only the basics of when to bring out food and drinks but also specific company policies and the restaurant’s definition of the perfect guest experience. All the things that servers are required to learn can crowd out the simple foundations of serving. If you have worked at a place for a while, it can be easy to forget basics like your restaurants ingredient list, your exact job duties, scheduling policies, and how to recover from faux pas.
