Special Restaurant Plates Make Food Picture Perfect

Millennials are bringing a variety of new trends to the restaurant game, like the adoption of new technologies, healthy and sustainable food, and the demand for business transparency. They also love to take photos of their food.

Camera phones and social media go together like strawberries and angel food cake, and because people are social creatures we like to share our experiences with others. Dining out is definitely an experience, so photographing delicious meals has become commonplace.

A restaurant in Israel has decided to capitalize on this craze, and they have some awesome ideas. Specially designed dishware provides a photo-friendly backdrop for luxurious-looking meals on special “Foodography” nights at Carmel Winery. They also have plates that spin, so diners can photograph food from different angles.

They even hold workshops to teach people how to take better photos of their food. Could this idea catch on in the U.S.? I sense a marketing opportunity!
