How to Recover From a Bad Review

Review websites are a double edged sword for restaurants. On the one hand, if reviews are good it can generate more business. On the other, a bad review can not only potentially push customers away, but seriously impact employee confidence.

This article from Shiftgig describes a few ways you can help your staff recover from a bad review. First off, realize that one or two bad reviews don’t matter much in the big picture. You could have done everything well, but that particular critic was having a bad day and just wanted to write something negative.

However, it’s a good idea to get the crew together and discuss the review. Maybe the critic had a few good points and you could use them to improve. Consider inviting the critic back for a second go, and take that opportunity to do the best job possible.

In any case, don’t dwell on it and keep doing the best you can!
