Tapping staff to run social media

Jonathan Deutsch dispenses advice to a person with a question about running social media for their employer’s brand. They ask if they should expect compensation for doing this in addition to their regular duties. Deutsch indicates that since there is no contract involved, the employer is not required to pay extra for this. However, compensation is the right thing to do, and should be asked for.
