Introduce an international salad theme

A strategy in cafeterias is to offer salad bars with rotations of themes. Salads are very versatile and can have regional connotations. Allowing diners to contribute from their own gardens gives a unique sense of involvement as well as fresh taste and variety. One dining area places a chalkboard with each diner’s contributions listed. Chartwell uses salads as a learning opportunity for kids. Each recipe is a lesson and opportunity to talk about the region or country the recipe originates from. Salad has even made its way into beverages. Plant based milk and beverages come in many flavors and textures to experiment with. Salad is all around a fun and tasty food item that goes beyond nutrition.
