Offering better value meals isn’t always the way to turn an operational profit. Sonic had a surge of sales when offing a new meal bundle last year but the results were not long lasting. Sonic intends now to offer bundles that are specific to the brand in a hope that customer loyalty will be a new driver. They are looking to encourage interest by focusing on branded food items and even shift into a new healthier perception of their items. Management also feels that they can utilize consumer interest such as the shift away from sodas, as a focus point.
