Want to be a manager? Here’s how to impress your boss!

You’re a hard working server and you take your job seriously. If you’d like to become a manager and enjoy a salary bump, the next step is making sure your boss sees your true potential. You can get noticed by volunteering for extra shifts, understanding what you’re selling, being good at bringing in customers, upselling, and making sure your voice is heard!

Obviously if you can take on more work and still take care of business, it will go a long way to show you’re dependable. Be careful though – you don’t want coworkers to take advantage of your generosity either.

Know as much about what you’re selling as possible, and upsell when you can. Being knowledgeable about the product and being able to continually sell pricier items are big wins in your boss’s book.

Of course, none of this matters unless your boss notices your hard work. Don’t be afraid to speak up and let your boss know what you’ve been doing well, and it’s okay to politely point out things that could be improved.
