Restaurant “Shows More Skin” to Help Women

Servers have to put up with a lot – it comes with the job. Waitresses especially deal with harassment often, and it usually flies under the radar. However, when a restaurant customer at Atomic Grill in Morgantown, WV left a review online requesting the servers “show more skin,” the owner decided to respond with one of the coolest promotions ever!

During Memorial Day weekend, Atomic Grill donated all sales of their loaded potato skins appetizer to the West Virginia Foundation for Rape Information and Services.

Owner Daniel McCawley could have ignored the sexist comment and gone on with his day. Instead, he seized the chance for a great marketing opportunity that generated a lot of positive publicity, and no doubt garnered him some new business too!

Available in eight U.S. cities, delivery service Caviar brings premium restaurant food to customer’s homes.

One of the challenges is packaging the premium food in a way that retains its quality, while also making sure their regular patrons are receiving the same treatment.

When Customers Raise Their Voices, Do You Walk Away?

Servers see people of all kinds, and while most tables you wait are full of polite people who understand you’re just doing your job, others have a sense of entitlement and have no problem yelling at you for your mistakes.

In this story from Dinners From Hell, a server misunderstood a coupon deal and denied a table’s request to use coupons on their meal, believing they weren’t allowed that night. The customers were not happy and yelled at the server. When the server politely stated they were going to get the manager and began walking away, they yelled wanting to know why (I guess they weren’t listening).

When the manager arrived at the table the customers continued to make a fuss until he gave them free meals, but not before telling them they were rude and that they were no longer welcome in the restaurant. Apparently this wasn’t their first offense.

Restaurant offers kindness to someone in need

Ashley Jiron has a big heart. Ashley is the owner of P.B. Jams, a sandwich shop in Warr Acres, Oklahoma. After noticing that someone had been going through the restaurant’s dumpster for food, Ashley put a welcoming sign on the door offering the homeless person a free meal inside the restaurant during operating hours.

No one took up the offer, but the good deed has attracted more customers. A genuine act of kindness goes a long way!
